USE ALL CAPS AND/OR WEIRD FONTS!
DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU WRITE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, IT'S LIKE SHOUTING AT THE READER? THAT'S RIGHT. PEOPLE TEND TO THINK YOU'RE YELLING AT THEM WHEN YOU WRITE IN ALL CAPS. IN ADDITION, ALL CAPITAL LETTERS IS REALLY HARD TO READ. IF YOU MAKE IT THROUGH ALL OF THIS WITHOUT CRINGING, MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU!BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THERE ARE WAYS TO MAKE YOUR TEXT EVEN MORE ANNOYING. THAT'S RIGHT. DON'T SETTLE FOR JUST USING ALL CAPS. YOU COULD USE WEIRD FONTS, TOO.
But you need to be aware that just because you have a font on your computer doesn't mean that the visitors to your website have that same font installed on their computer. And if they don't have the same font installed, their web browser will substitute another font in it's place.
The solution? Use the font-family called "fantasy" to specify the font. Then each web browser will pick a font to display from it's list of weird "fantasy" fonts.
Of course, this means your web page will look different on every web browser, but who cares? It's not like it matters to you whether people visit your site!
By the way, there is one thing you can do that is an absolutely horrible no-no, and is guaranteed to drive traffic away from your site. You want to know what it is?
TYPE IN ALL CAPS AND USE A CURSIVE (SCRIPT) FONT. CURSIVE FONTS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS, AND ARE ABSOLUTELY THE HARDEST THING TO READ. NEVER-THE-LESS, A LOT OF NEWBIE WEB PAGE AUTHORS THINK THIS LOOKS REALLY COOL.
THE GENERAL WEB SURFING PUBLIC DOES NOT AGREE.
